Commitment to the Planet is part of our philosophy. The future of the earth depends on each of us, on our choices, and that is why it is important to be aware of the actions we take. This is why we wanted to make a contribution by sharing an important reforestation project with our partners.
Supported by the company Treedom, an organisation that allows you to plant trees from a distance and follow the project story online, we purchased 120 cacao trees that were planted by Cameroonian farmers in one of the agroforestry projects the company supports.
With these trees we offset a small but important part of CO2.
Each tree was then donated to our partners during the Christmas holidays.
This gesture contributes to the reforestation of our planet. A greener planet also means a healthier place to live, for us and for our children.
By initiating this project, our company is taking a concrete step, offsetting approximately 6.6 tonnes of CO2 over the next 10 years, equivalent to that produced by a train travelling approximately 440,040 km.
With this activity we finance farmers in Cameroon who want to plant trees, supporting their work in the first years, when the trees do not yet bear fruit.
By planting trees in this way we also bring positive changes to communities around the world!
Today, commitment to the Planet is an integral part of Martellato's philosophy and everyday activities. This commitment is carried out thanks to increasingly efficient production processes and careful environmental management systems, with the aim of significantly reducing pollution, waste and consumption. Martellato has always used processes that reduce waste to zero, short cycles that reduce consumption, re-use of raw materials and high plant productivity in every production phase. The use of recyclable materials, or recycled materials where permitted by food regulations, and the re-industrialisation of waste represent our constant commitment, contributing to better air and environmental quality.
